Summary: The role of Data Architect at a Tier 1 Investment Bank involves overseeing the data infrastructure with a focus on the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and Configuration Management Database (CMDB). The position requires collaboration with stakeholders to ensure data architecture aligns with enterprise guidelines and industry best practices. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in data architecture and IT Service Management, particularly with ServiceNow. This is a long-term project requiring strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a globally distributed environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and management of the CMDB and CSDM, ensuring efficiency, policy compliance, and alignment with technology strategy.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to validate data needs and maintain CMDB hygiene.
  • Ensure data architecture aligns with enterprise architecture guidelines.
  • Report on data architecture status, liaising with functional leads, business services, and governance forums.
  • Establish a data architecture framework, manage documentation, prioritize requirements, and oversee the implementation.
  • Support the triage of data changes, recommend solutions, and audit CMDB for design compliance.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones and deadlines.

Key Skills:

  • 5+ years as a Data Architect, with at least 2 years of ServiceNow experience.
  • Deep understanding of ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Release, etc.).
  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., financial services) preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, adaptable to changing environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Ability to work independently with strong ownership and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Agile development, ITIL, and ServiceNow certifications a plus.
  • Strong collaboration across global teams and the ability to handle complex distributed systems.
  • Knowledge of various system implementation methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
  • Program management experience or Agile certification.
  • ServiceNow Admin and Developer training/certification.
