Summary: The Data Analytics Engineer role at a leading online pharmacy in Leeds involves designing, maintaining, and enhancing a bespoke Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) hosted on MS Azure SQL Server. The position requires collaboration with a focused team to improve data quality, reporting capabilities, and data accessibility, ultimately driving informed decision-making. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring and validating the accuracy of the EDW, improving data quality and query performance.
  • Exploring and understanding fields within production systems to integrate new data into the EDW.
  • Maintaining seamless execution of ETL and other routines, enhancing performance and reliability.
  • Eliminating reliance on legacy systems by modernising and improving data solutions.
  • Partnering with the Head of BI to develop and maintain the reporting suite.
  • Collaborating with MI/BI analysts to identify and establish reliable, accurate data sources that meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Ensuring reports are technically and conceptually efficient, accurate, and impactful.
  • Playing a key role in designing and building a new version of the Data Warehouse from the ground up.
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance the EDW technically and conceptually.
  • Driving efforts to deliver smart, effective insights into P2U’s performance and outcomes.

Key Skills:

  • Proven ability as a BI Developer/Data Analytics Engineer.
  • Extensive experience of SQL/T-SQL and using SSMS, SSIS, and Server Agent.
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio’s BI stack and ETL process, Kimball Dimensional Modelling Techniques, and BI modelling guidance.
  • Experience with Python and Data Lakehouse Architecture.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.
  • Ability to work within company and ethical rules and regulations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and responsibility for a range of data sources and stakeholder delivery.
  • Reliable and able to keep up with a highly motivated team.
