Summary: The Data Analyst (Royalties) role at BMG involves supporting the Music Royalties team in a strategic project focused on ensuring the accuracy and completeness of royalty-related data. The position requires collaboration with various internal teams to validate, cleanse, and migrate data across multiple platforms, contributing to the improvement of royalty processes in the music industry. Candidates should have a strong background in data management, particularly within the entertainment sector, and possess excellent attention to detail. This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop data migration strategy and approach for cleaning historic royalty data.
- Review and validate royalty data for accuracy and consistency.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in royalty data between systems.
- Assist in the migration of royalty data ensuring proper formatting and alignment.
- Prepare reports for the Project Manager on data cleansing and migration progress.
- Collaborate with local royalty, Finance, and Technology teams for data integration.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in data cleansing.
- Participate in end-to-end testing of key systems post-migration.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in data management or data cleansing, preferably in the music industry.
- Experience with music royalty systems and rights management.
- Understanding of music publishing and recording contracts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data manipulation).
- Experience with database management tools or royalty software.
- Basic knowledge of SQL or data processing tools (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
