Summary: The Data Analyst role involves working with the Policy Admin files of the WINS system and requires strong technical skills in SQL and AS400 commands. The position may be offered as a fixed-term contract for six months or as a permanent role. The analyst will be responsible for understanding data flow, process mapping, and resolving production issues related to WCPOLS. Knowledge of COBOL and the methodology of Waterfall is advantageous for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Experience with the Policy Admin files of the WINS system.
- Utilize AS400 commands and strong SQL knowledge for querying the database.
- Understand how a WC policy is rated and algorithms used for standard earned premium calculations.
- Map data from hard copy policies to the wcpols files for regulatory reporting.
- Resolve WCPOLS production issues and identify system abends or reasons for critiques/fines from WC rating bureaus.
- Understand data flow, process mapping, and data integration in WINS.
Key Skills:
- Experience with WINS system and Policy Admin files.
- Strong SQL knowledge.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Understanding of COBOL is a plus.
- Knowledge of Waterfall methodology.
- Ability to understand WC policy rating and premium calculation algorithms.
- Data flow and process mapping skills.
