Summary: The role of Senior Data Analyst involves utilizing SQL and various database technologies to manipulate and analyze data, with a focus on cloud and on-premise systems. The position is based in Galway and requires extensive experience in data analytics, data warehousing, and visualization tools. The analyst will collaborate with stakeholders to develop effective data models and ensure data quality. This is a hybrid role requiring one week of on-site work per month.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize SQL for data manipulation, querying, and profiling on cloud and on-premise database technologies.
- Develop and maintain data visualization dashboards using Tableau and/or Power BI.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective data models.
- Collaborate with data architects, engineers, and business analysts to align with overall data strategy.
- Ensure data quality and governance initiatives are met.
- Build conceptual, logical, and physical data models in a relational database environment.
- Work independently while seeking guidance when necessary.
- Engage with business partners to understand data implications and insights.
Key Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and Unix shell scripts.
- Experience with Snowflake, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Strong background in data analytics, data warehousing, and data visualization.
- Familiarity with ETL tools such as Informatica or Snap Logic.
- Ability to communicate complex data concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in Agile methodologies (Kanban and/or SCRUM).

- Experience in Snowflake procedures, PL/SQL, SQL, Unix shell scripts, Python.
- Working understanding of relevant database platforms (e.g., Oracle, Snowflake, Microsoft SQL Server).
- 8+ years of analyst experience in the form of research, requirements definition, gap analysis, data mining, and data profiling.
- Demonstrated ability in data analytics, data warehousing, and data visualization.
- Proven experience in building data visualization dashboards using Tableau and/or Power BI.
- Experience with data management and visualization tools (SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Python, Alteryx), report generation and distribution with an emphasis in SQL knowledge.
- Understanding of modeling strategies and concepts (dimensional, relational, unstructured).
- Building conceptual, logical, and physical data models (3NF) in a relational database environment.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective data models, considering data quality, performance, and scalability.
- Experience with data governance and data quality initiatives
- Solid understanding of data lineage. Ability to break down and detail the flow of data from source to target and develop data flow diagrams.
