Summary: The Data Analyst role is a 6-month contract position based in Edinburgh, requiring immediate availability. Key Responsibilities:

  • Inputting information (financial models, budgets, management accounts) onto PortF and tracking outstanding data.
  • Supporting ongoing PortF improvement projects.
  • Tracking companies against financial forecasts and assisting in deep dives for performance issues.
  • Conducting exit analysis for portfolio companies, including valuation assessments.
  • Providing general admin support to maintain Salesforce and SharePoint, including KYC checks.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in financial analysis or portfolio management, including financial modelling and budgeting.
  • Proficiency with data entry and management systems, particularly financial platforms like PortF, Salesforce, and SharePoint.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

  • Working knowledge of compliance requirements, including KYC processes.

Detailed Description From Employer:

Data Analyst| 6 Month Contract | (Inside IR35) | Hybrid/Edinburgh | Starting ASAP

Day Rate: £200

Main Duties:

  • Inputting information (financial models, budgets, management accounts) onto PortF. Keeping track of outstanding information on PortF and flagging/chasing Portfolio Management Lead for outstanding data on a monthly basis.
  • Helping/supporting with ongoing PortF improvement project.
  • Helping to track companies against relevant financial forecasts. Flagging when companies are off track and helping Portfolio Management Lead in performing deep dives to ascertain why companies are off track.
  • Helping with ongoing exit analysis for companies in the portfolio (including exit valuation analysis).
  • General admin support to ensure Salesforce and SharePoint are all up to date as well as helping to update KYC checks.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in financial analysis or portfolio management, including familiarity with financial modelling, budgeting, and interpreting management accounts.
  • Proficiency with data entry and management systems, particularly financial platforms like PortF (or similar portfolio management tools), Salesforce, and SharePoint would be beneficial.
  • Attention to detail and organisational skills, enabling effective tracking of outstanding data, documentation, and follow-ups with internal stakeholders.
  • Understanding of key financial indicators and forecasting, with the ability to support performance monitoring and highlight variances or risks in company performance.
  • Exposure to investment or corporate finance processes, particularly experience supporting exit analysis or valuation assessments.
  • Project support experience, ideally within a financial or systems improvement context, showing ability to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of compliance requirements, including supporting Know Your Customer (KYC) processes and maintaining up-to-date records.
