Key Responsibilities:

  • Diving into structured and unstructured datasets, mapping how data moves and how it's used.
  • Identifying the right datasets to bring into the data platform and helping shape data models and governance standards.
  • Improving data quality through smart validation, automation, and proactive problem-solving.
  • Maintaining and shaping the organisation's central data catalogue.
  • Creating BI dashboards and visualisations that cut through complexity and support decision-makers.
  • Taking full ownership of data issues seeing them through to resolution.
  • Contributing ideas that improve processes, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Staying aware of industry trends and using them to enhance how the organisation works with data.

Key Skills:

  • Strong BI development experience (e.g., Power BI) and confidence in data modelling (Kimball or similar).
  • Excellent SQL skills (T-SQL, PL/SQL).
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tooling and scripting in Python or PowerShell.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts, data pipelines, and Git-based version control.
  • Exposure to Agile delivery environments.
  • Experience with modern data engineering platforms (e.g., Databricks), cloud data tools, or both relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Background in regulated or highly controlled industries.
