Summary: The Data Analyst (Data Quality & Governance) role involves hands-on data investigation, quality assurance, and analysis within a major transformation programme at a global consulting firm. The position requires close collaboration with stakeholders to identify data issues, validate datasets, and support key data deliverables. This contract role is hybrid, requiring 1-2 days per week in London, and is suited for individuals with strong technical skills in data analysis and governance. The initial contract is for 6 months with a strong likelihood of extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hands-on analysis of datasets to identify data quality issues, anomalies, and root causes with minimal guidance
- Performing data validation, reconciliation, and transformation checks across multiple systems and data sources
- Supporting source-to-target mapping and ensuring accuracy and consistency of data flows
- Producing core data artefacts including data dictionaries, definitions, and validation documentation
- Working closely with stakeholders to understand data issues and support resolution
- Supporting data modelling understanding (e.g. entity relationships, data structures)
- Ensuring data is fit-for-purpose for reporting and downstream consumption (BI/reporting teams)
- Supporting governance activity relating to PII, GDPR, data security, and data controls
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience in data analysis / data quality / data migration environments
- Strong SQL skills (comfortable interrogating and analysing complex datasets independently)
- Proven experience with data validation, reconciliation, and data quality improvement
- Experience working with source-to-target mappings and data transformations
- Comfortable working with large, complex, and overlapping datasets (deduplication, cleansing, anomaly detection)
- Understanding of data structures and modelling concepts (ERDs, data relationships)
- Strong Excel skills
- Understanding of data governance concepts (PII, GDPR, data controls)
- Able to work with stakeholders but with a technical, hands-on data mindset

Robert Half International is supporting a global consulting firm in the search for a hands-on Data Analyst to join a major transformation programme. This role sits within programme governance but is heavily focused on data investigation, quality, and analysis , working closely with stakeholders to identify issues, validate data, and support key data deliverables. This is a hands-on data-focused position suited to someone comfortable working directly with datasets to identify issues, perform validation and reconciliation, and improve overall data quality across multiple sources.
Assignment Details:
- Initial 6-month contract (with strong likelihood of extension)
- Start Date : 2–3 weeks (fast-track onboarding)
- Location : Hybrid (1–2 days per week in London )
- Rate: £450 p/day via FCSA-accredited umbrella
