Summary: The Data Analyst role is a 6-month contract based in Edinburgh, requiring a professional with experience in the Life and Pension domain. The position focuses on providing analytical support for data integration and migration projects within a hybrid CRM ecosystem. Key responsibilities include data analysis, quality assurance, and collaboration with various stakeholders to translate business needs into project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working closely with business SMEs, data stewards and IT teams to analyse the business and data processes, applications and systems
- Working closely with source system SMEs to understand data structures, data dictionaries and data mappings
- Reverse engineering and documenting data models
- Tracing and documenting data flows
- Data profiling and mining of source data
- Eliciting and documenting detailed data requirements and artefacts
- Working closely with the project delivery teams and supporting them throughout delivery
- Producing reusable and discoverable data documentation to supplement existing data catalogues
- Performing quality assurance activities
Key Skills:
- Demonstrable experience of working on complex projects as a Data Analyst
- Technical skills with SQL, Power BI and other tools and technologies
- Power BI technical skills such as building out reports, DAX coding and creating visualisations
- Well versed with industry standard data governance principals
- Highly credible with a professional approach
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Able to work with a range of stakeholders to facilitate requirements gathering, workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions
