Summary: The Damp & Mould Surveyor will lead building inspections focused on disrepair, damp, mould, and condensation issues within housing stock in Stevenage. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of properties to identify damp and mould issues.
  • Prepare detailed reports outlining findings and recommended actions.

  • Collaborate with contractors and other stakeholders to ensure timely repairs.
  • Monitor the progress of remedial works and ensure compliance with standards.

  • Oversee and review contractor performance, ensuring repairs and remedial works are completed to standard and within required timeframes.
  • Provide clear communication to residents, managing expectations and maintaining high levels of customer service.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant building regulations, legislation, and best practice, particularly relating to social housing and fitness for human habitation.

Key Skills:

  • MRICS or FRICS qualified (essential).
  • Strong background in building surveying within the social housing sector.
  • Proven experience managing disrepair and damp & mould cases, with sound understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Excellent diagnostic, report writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and communicate technical information clearly.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential).
