Role Overview
We are looking for an Cybersecurity Consultant to join on a 12-month hybrid contract based in Sheffield, starting September 2026. The role assists in establishing an engineering excellence programme across Cyber, building a community of practice to drive consistency, standardisation, and a culture of automation and continuous improvement across teams in a large, complex financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Embed engineering efficiency and best practice across Cyber, partnering with Engineering Leads and capability owners to ensure desired outcomes are achieved across process, systems, and tooling
- Facilitate the creation, evolution, and implementation of standard build and deployment pipelines across Cyber engineering teams, driving adoption of consistent pipeline patterns
- Champion cross-functional reuse across new product introduction, promoting a build-once-use-many approach and driving inner sourcing culture across engineering and business teams
- Coach and support Agile teams to ensure full consideration of concept-to-product-to-customer is achieved, driving adoption of standard patterns and approaches
- Identify and lead the production and implementation of standards and patterns that drive consistency and efficiency, partnering with product management to ensure non-functional engineering requirements are Embedded in product selection

- Strong hands-on DevOps skills at both design and implementation level, with extensive experience as a Senior Engineer or Technical Architect in high-tech or high-change environments
- Proven experience leading or significantly contributing to engineering improvement initiatives in large, complex organisations
- Strong people management capability with experience operating across global, decentralised, cross-functional teams
- Experience in systems engineering and requirements management, with a track record of delivery in complex, matrixed environments including design authority and engineering quality
- Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills - desirable: experience in financial services or a regulated industry, and familiarity with Cyber Security tools and standards
Contract Details:
- Rate: £600 per day Inside IR35
- Location: Hybrid (2x a week) in Sheffield
- Contract Length: 12 - Month Initial Contract
