Summary: The Cyber Transformation Lead will oversee a crucial transformation program within a government-backed environmental organization, focusing on cyber and information assurance. This role requires alignment with strategic objectives and direct support to the deputy CISO. The position is hybrid, based in Cheshire, and offers a competitive daily rate. Candidates must possess significant experience in cyber advisory roles and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, refresh, and embed cyber policies, standards, and procedures; track adoption/compliance.
  • Provide portfolio oversight and RAG reporting; escalate and drive remediation of misalignments.
  • Conduct horizon scanning and brief leadership on implications and recommendations.
  • Support the establishment of cyber profession standards with HR/L&D.
  • Ensure timely access to SL stakeholders, systems, repositories, and tooling.
  • Facilitate availability of policy owners and project managers for reviews and attestations.
  • Coordinate the resolution of complex/high profile cyber issues and facilitate stakeholder engagement.

Key Skills:

  • Experience within the public sector or local government preferred.
  • SC cleared, or hold BPSS with scope to obtain SC Clearance.
  • Ability to lead/coordinate the resolution of complex/high profile cyber issues.
  • Experience in developing, refreshing, and embedding cyber policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Proficient in providing portfolio oversight and RAG reporting.
  • Experience in conducting horizon scanning and briefing leadership.
  • Ability to support the establishment of cyber profession standards with HR/L&D.

Cyber Transformation LeadSecurity Clearance: SC - would accept BPSS with a view to obtaining SC clearanceA leading & enterprise environmental organisation that is government backed is hiring a Cyber Transformation Lead for a 12 month contract paying up to £650 PD Outside IR 35 to be based in Cheshire on a hybrid basis (2 days per week).This is crucial transformation programme where the chose Cyber Transformation Lead will be aligned to strategic objectives, supporting the deputy CISO and have direct impact over the Cyber & Information Assurance function.The chosen candidate will have demonstrable experience acting as an internal cyber advisor aligned with SL strategy and organisation objectives. With the ability to lead/coordinate the resolution of complex/high profile cyber issues & facilitate stakeholder engagement.Core requirements:

  • Develop, refresh, and embed cyber policies, standards, and procedures; track adoption/compliance.
  • Provide portfolio oversight and RAG reporting; escalate and drive remediation of misalignments.
  • Conduct horizon scanning and brief leadership on implications and recommendations.
  • Support the establishment of cyber profession standards with HR/L&D.Timely access to SL stakeholders, systems, repositories, and tooling (eg, policy library, LMS, phishing platform, service management/SIEM, PMO data).
  • Availability of policy owners and project managers for reviews and attestations.
  • SL will provide required clearances, facilities, and collaboration tools.
