Summary: The Cyber Security Team Lead role involves leading a small cyber security team while delivering hands-on technical support. The position requires expertise in Microsoft security products and the development of security policies aligned with industry standards. The successful candidate will manage operational security activities and contribute to the client's cyber security programme. This is a contract position based in Cardiff with hybrid working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead operational security activities and support the delivery of the client’s cyber security programme.
- Act as a Security Analyst with strong experience in Microsoft Defender and Sentinel.
- Provide leadership on projects, risk management, and improvements.
- Support the development and implementation of policies and standards aligned to frameworks such as ISO 27001.
Key Skills:
- Hands-on experience as a Security Analyst with some management/leadership experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft security products, including Defender and Sentinel.
- Solid understanding of endpoint, server, and network security.
- Experience developing security policies and processes aligned with best practice frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST CSF, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Salary (Rate): £245 daily

VIQU have partnered with a public-sector client based in Cardiff, who are seeking a Cyber Security Team Lead to support a small cyber security team on a contract basis.
Role overview:
The Cyber Security Team Lead role will involve combining hands-on technical delivery and leadership of a small team. The successful Cyber Security Team Lead will:
- Lead operational security activities and support the delivery of our client’s cyber security programme.
- Act as a Security Analyst with strong experience in Microsoft Defender (Endpoint, Cloud, Office) and Sentinel, helping to develop Sentinel use further within the organisation.
- Lead a small team and provide leadership on projects, risk management and improvements.
- Support the development and implementation of policies and standards aligned to frameworks such as ISO 27001.
Key skills & experience:
- Hands-on experience as a Security Analyst, in addition to some management / leadership experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft security products, including Defender and Sentinel.
- Solid understanding of endpoint, server, and network security.
