Summary: The Data Security Engineer role involves joining a cyber security team to protect sensitive data and enhance security frameworks within a leading organization. The position requires designing, implementing, and maintaining data security solutions while ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Candidates must have SC Clearance or be eligible for it and will work in a hybrid arrangement. This is a contract position lasting three months initially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data security policies to safeguard sensitive information
  • Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability testing to identify potential security gaps
  • Design and maintain encryption, access control, and authentication systems
  • Monitor network activity, detect threats, and respond to security incidents
  • Collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams to integrate security solutions
  • Ensure compliance with regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO 27001
  • Stay up to date with emerging cybersecurity threats and industry best practices

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Strong background in data protection, encryption, and security frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls, SIEM tools, and intrusion detection systems
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Desirable Certifications CISSP, CISM, Or CEH (preferred But Not Essential)

The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Data Security Engineer to join a high-performing cyber security team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data security solutions, ensuring robust protection against evolving cyber threats while maintaining compliance with industry regulations.
