Summary: The Automotive Cybersecurity Engineer will support a major embedded systems programme in a regulated engineering environment, focusing on cybersecurity engineering activities across complex vehicle platforms. The role involves conducting threat analysis, defining cybersecurity requirements, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The successful candidate will collaborate with various engineering teams and contribute to programme delivery while supporting technical reviews and audits. This is a contract position based in the Preston area with a hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Threat Analysis and Risk Assessments (TARA) for embedded systems and electronic control units.
  • Define and document cybersecurity requirements and technical specifications.
  • Produce high-quality engineering documentation to support compliance and assurance activities.
  • Define cryptographic service requirements for embedded platforms.
  • Support cybersecurity activities throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with engineering, software and systems teams across multiple locations.
  • Contribute to programme delivery, ensuring milestones are achieved within agreed timescales.
  • Support technical reviews, audits and cybersecurity governance activities.

Key Skills:

  • Strong experience within automotive or embedded systems cybersecurity engineering.
  • Working knowledge of automotive cybersecurity standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience performing Threat Analysis and Risk Assessments (TARA).
  • Strong understanding of embedded system architectures and vehicle communication networks.
  • Experience defining cybersecurity requirements and security controls.
  • Ability to produce detailed technical specifications and engineering documentation.
  • Experience working across multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Salary (Rate): £475 daily

Rate: Up to £475 per day (Outside IR35)

Contract Length: Initial 12 Month Contract
