Role Overview
As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will play a meaningful role in ensuring the security, integrity, and compliance of our defence industry customer's information systems and technology infrastructure.
Your main focus will be on Vulnerability Management activities using Tenable Nessus and you will support the Cyber Security team with activities such as identifying, assessing, and mitigating cyber risks, implementing effective governance practices, and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards.
This is a superb opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of Cyber Security while contributing to the overall risk management strategy of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Run vulnerability detection scans and ensure CMDB coverage.
- Analyse all vulnerabilities at Critical and High and ensure correct assignment to service owner/provider responsible.
- Send communication and raise tickets for all vulnerabilities either via email or using BMC Remedy.
- Follow up on all vulnerabilities raised, chasing users for resolution or details on why vulnerabilities are not patched.
- Escalate non-remediation through the relevant process via management or deviation/risk process.
- Communicate on and follow up Medium and Low vulnerabilities on at least a monthly basis.
- Provide written reports including KPI’s and stats on a regular basis to provide an overview of the issues currently affecting CE+ non-compliance.
Essential Skills
- Candidates must have sole UK nationality due to the security restrictions in place
- Candidates must have current SC clearance
- Vulnerability Management experience
- Vulnerability Management technology (preferably Tenable Nessus) and service provision
- Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix Operating Systems
