Cyber Security Engineer

Summary: The Cyber Security Engineer role involves supporting the Client's Security Operations team in enhancing security monitoring capabilities and implementing Palo Alto XSIAM. The successful candidate will focus on threat detection, automating security processes, and ensuring compliance with government cybersecurity standards. This hands-on engineering position requires strong expertise in cyber security and SOC operations. The role is hybrid, requiring 40% attendance at the nearest Client Hub.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Client's Security Operations team in enhancing security monitoring capabilities.
• Deploy and optimize Palo Alto XSIAM.
• Improve threat detection and automate security processes.
• Strengthen the Client's cyber monitoring capabilities.
• Ensure compliance with government cybersecurity standards.

Key Skills:

• Strong Cyber Security Engineering/SOC experience.
• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto XSIAM (implementation, configuration and management) is essential.
• Experience developing security policies, detection rules and response workflows.
• Integration of XSIAM with wider security tooling and automation platforms.
• Security monitoring, incident analysis, threat detection and response.
• Threat intelligence collaboration and security operations best practice.
• Ability to produce security reports and communicate findings to technical and senior stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Government security standards (CAF, GovAssure, MCSS) is desirable.
