Summary: The Cyber Security Engineer role involves developing and securing a telemetry pipeline MVP with a focus on observability and secure infrastructure design. Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing security controls across containerised environments using Kubernetes and OpenShift.
- Ensuring secure configuration and access management within GitLab version control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Integrating and securing telemetry tools such as Cribl, Elastic, Splunk, Fluentd, and Syslog.
- Conducting threat modelling, vulnerability assessments, and risk analysis for telemetry pipelines.
- Collaborating with DevOps engineers to embed security within infrastructure-as-code and deployment workflows.
- Monitoring and responding to security events and alerts from observability platforms, while maintaining documentation of security architecture and incident response procedures.
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift in secure production environments.
- Proficiency in GitLab and secure CI/CD pipeline practices.
- Knowledge of telemetry and logging tools including Cribl, Elastic, Splunk, Fluentd, and Syslog.
- Deep understanding of networking protocols, Firewalls, VPNs, and core security principles.
- Experience with security frameworks such as NIST or ISO 27001 and related compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with container security tools such as Aqua, Twistlock, or Trivy.
