Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver secure, scalable solutions across cloud and on-premise environments, using Microsoft's security suite (Defender, Sentinel, Identity).
  • Align security architecture with strategic business and digital objectives.
  • Collaborate with project, architecture, and security teams to embed security throughout the change lifecycle.
  • Produce technical roadmaps and comprehensive documentation to guide future security efforts.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, providing mentoring and guidance across teams.

Key Skills:

  • Significant experience designing and implementing complex security architecture, particularly within Microsoft ecosystems.
  • Expertise in cloud security and integration, including hybrid environments.
  • A deep understanding of security frameworks and principles (e.g., defence-in-depth, secure development lifecycle).
  • Strong communication skills able to translate complex technical requirements for a range of stakeholders.
  • A strategic and collaborative mindset, capable of influencing security direction and decision-making.
  • Desirable certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Microsoft SC-200, AZ-500, SC-100, or TOGAF.

About Cyber Security Architect

A leading university in the North West is looking for an experienced Programme Security Architect to play a central role in a major Security & Risk Transformation Programme. This is a unique opportunity to define and implement enterprise-wide security architecture that will directly impact the safety of critical systems, data, and people.

What Youll Be Doing

As the Programme Security Architect, youll:

  • Design and deliver secure, scalable solutions across cloud and on-premise environments, using Microsofts security suite (Defender, Sentinel, Identity).
