Summary: The Cyber Security Architect role involves providing expert security advice, assessing risks, and recommending security controls to meet business requirements. The position requires leading security-focused solution designs and maintaining a comprehensive view of security architecture across various technology platforms. The role is based on-site in locations such as Glasgow, Portsmouth, Bristol, or Frimley, with an initial contract duration of six months. The position is classified as inside IR35 and requires working through an umbrella company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recommending security controls and solutions to meet business requirements.
- Assessing risks associated with proposed system changes and recommending security-related controls and technologies.
- Providing specialist security advice and recommending approaches.
- Acting as a consultative function to ensure all solution designs adhere to standards and baselines.
- Maintaining a view of the security architecture across application, information, and operational technology environments.
- Establishing standards for security architecture and providing governance across all technology platforms.
Key Skills:
- Background in IT infrastructure and systems design/operations.
- Knowledge of IT Security activities within the defence sector or highly regulated environments.
- Experience with cyber security infrastructure technologies, including implementation and configuration.
- Familiarity with security best practices (e.g., ISO27001 or NIST 800-53) and relevant legislation.
- Experience working with internal and external service providers in regulated environments.
- Desirable: IT Security Architecture experience including TOGAF and/or SABSA.
- Certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, or CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent).
