Summary: The Head of Cyber Defence is responsible for leading and developing the Cyber Defence function, which encompasses various security operations including Security Operations, Identity & Access Management, and Threat Intelligence. This role involves managing vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with regulations, and overseeing security incidents to minimize impact. Additionally, the position requires the development of strategies for continuous improvement in Cyber Defence services and collaboration with other teams to integrate security measures into business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and developing the Cyber Defence function including Security Operations, Identity & Access Management, Vulnerability Management, and Threat Intelligence.
- Guiding vendors and third parties that assist the Cyber Defence team.
- Implementing tools, processes, and controls for compliance with regulations and obligations.
- Managing day-to-day security and audit tasks associated with the Cyber Defence Function.
- Overseeing and managing Security Operational incidents and events.
- Building a strategy and continuous improvement plan for Cyber Defence services.
- Developing threat intelligence strategies to enhance Cyber Defence services.
- Providing input to the Infosec Team on Cyber Defence requirements for change initiatives.
- Supporting teams in using threat intelligence and security monitoring in their processes.
- Identifying and managing Cyber Defence risks effectively.
- Performing regular testing of processes and updating based on lessons learned.
- Providing adequate resourcing for out-of-hours support.
Key Skills:
- Strong leadership and management skills in Cyber Defence.
- Expertise in Security Operations, Identity & Access Management, and Vulnerability Management.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance, particularly with FCA and other regulators.
