Summary: The Cyber Architect role focuses on designing and consulting for Operational Technology (OT) security within a leading defence client. The position involves identifying OT-specific threats, securing both legacy and emerging systems, and ensuring operational resilience in safety-critical environments. The successful candidate will engage with various stakeholders to implement robust security architectures. This is a contract position with hybrid working arrangements based in Lancashire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand and interpret internal security policies and regulatory requirements applicable to OT environments.
- Map vulnerabilities across Legacy and new OT systems, including interfaces with IT environments.
- Ensure OT architectures meet availability, safety, and security requirements.
- Support assurance, accreditation, and security reviews as required.
- Identify and assess OT-specific threats, risks, and attack vectors.
- Support the implementation of OT security architectures in collaboration with engineering and operational teams.
Key Skills:
- A strong background in architecture and design, ideally related to OT or ICS systems and security.
- Strong understanding of OT security principles, threat models, and risk management.
- Experience of securing Legacy OT systems and integrating security into new OT architectures.
- Familiarity with OT threat, security and monitoring tools.
- Previous defence sector experience would be highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Eligibility and willingness to undergo a certain level of security clearance (DV) is advantageous.

The successful candidate will work in a role that combines design and consultancy, focusing on identifying Operational Technology-specific threats, securing Legacy and emerging systems, and ensuring operational resilience across complex, safety-critical environments.
