CX Engineer - Finland

Astute People are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer to support a major data centre project in Finland on a long-term contract.

The role is site-based and will suit an engineer with strong LV/MV electrical commissioning experience, particularly across switchgear, critical power systems and large-scale data centre or mission-critical projects.

This is a long-term contract opportunity with an ASAP or flexible start date and a competitive day rate dependent on experience.

Responsibilities and duties of the Electrical Commissioning Engineer role

• You'll be site-based, working alongside commissioning, construction and client teams to deliver electrical systems safely and in line with project requirements.
• Carry out electrical commissioning activities across LV and MV systems.
• Support testing, verification, energisation and commissioning of electrical equipment.
• Commission and test MV/LV switchgear, transformers and associated distribution systems.
• Complete commissioning documentation, test records and handover documentation.
• Support functional testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
• Work alongside commissioning, construction and client teams to ensure systems are delivered safely and in accordance with project requirements.
• Follow site Permit to Work, LOTO and health and safety procedures.
• Identify and resolve technical issues during commissioning.

Professional qualifications

• We are looking for candidates with the following:
• Strong electrical commissioning background.
• Proven experience with LV/MV electrical systems and switchgear.
• Experience within data centre, mission-critical, power generation or other critical infrastructure environments.
• Experience with testing, energisation and handover.
• Good understanding of electrical protection and control systems.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong understanding of safe working practices, Permit to Work and LOTO procedures.
• Relevant electrical engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
• Previous international project experience is advantageous.
• EU passport or existing Finnish work authorisation preferred, although relevant international candidates will be considered subject to work authorisation requirements.
