Summary: The Customer Quality Engineer role focuses on enhancing vehicle characteristics to meet customer expectations, particularly in the areas of Squeak & Rattle and water ingress. This position involves leading investigations into quality issues and collaborating with various teams throughout the vehicle development process. The engineer will employ hands-on problem-solving techniques and methodologies to ensure high-quality standards are maintained. Occasional travel to the West Midlands is required as part of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead investigations into attribute concerns related to Squeak & Rattle, body sealing, and water leaks.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and suppliers to establish root causes of quality issues.
- Utilize 8D methodology for problem-solving and investigation processes.
- Work cross-functionally throughout the vehicle design, development, manufacturing, and launch phases.
- Ensure vehicle refinement meets customer expectations and differentiates from competitors.
- Manage strategy, methods, targets, testing, detection, and resolution for NVH attributes.
Key Skills:
- Automotive/Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Demonstrable problem-solving experience, including Root Cause Analysis and 8D methodologies.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
- Proficient in quality tools (8D, Fishbone, FTA, PDCA, 5Y).
- Experience with data analysis and MS Office applications.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
