Summary: In this role as a Customer Enquiries Officer, you will provide exceptional customer service by addressing requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act and Environmental Information Regulations, while engaging with a diverse range of external customers. The position offers opportunities for personal career development and requires a proactive approach to learning new IT processes. You will work in a hybrid arrangement, with a significant portion of your time spent in the office, and will be involved in incident response duties as part of your responsibilities. This fixed-term role is designed to enhance your knowledge of environmental matters while developing your customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act and Environmental Information Regulations.
  • Provide customer service to a diverse range of external customers from public, commercial, and political sectors.
  • Engage in incident response duties and provide business continuity support during incidents.
  • Participate in training and develop IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Balance and prioritize reactive workloads while maintaining a positive and proactive attitude.

Key Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills in writing, over the phone, and in person.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook and Excel.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to learn new IT processes and systems confidently.
  • Awareness of environmental matters and relevant legislation such as the Freedom of Information Act.
