Summary: The role of CSCS Labourer involves supporting the commissioning and testing of a large-scale industrial conveyor system. This position requires a focus on safety and mechanical integrity, as the labourer will work closely with the technical team during the testing phase. Key Responsibilities:
- Test Loading: Placing items or weights on the belt to see how the system handles a heavy load.
- The "Snag" Check: Walking the line to watch for belts slipping, boxes getting stuck, or parts making weird noises.
- Safety Testing: Helping test the "Emergency Stop" buttons and sensors to make sure the machine stops instantly if something goes wrong.
- Keeping it Clean: Making sure no scrap metal or dirt falls into the moving parts, which could break the expensive motors.
- Following the Leader: Taking directions from the Mechanical Engineers to help them tweak and fix the system during the trial runs.
Key Skills:
- CSCS Card: A valid Green (Labourer) or Blue (Skilled) card is mandatory.
- Industrial Experience: Previous experience on large-scale construction sites, warehouses, or manufacturing plants.
