Summary: The Critical Environment Facility Support Engineer role is focused on maintaining and operating electrical and mechanical systems within a critical data center environment in Newport, Wales. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide escort support for third-party contractors and vendors on site.
  • Perform basic monitoring and initial assessments on the performance of equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems.
  • Take daily operational readings of all electrical equipment through routine rounds.
  • Assist in providing emergency monitoring and response to abnormal conditions, utilizing emergency operating procedures (EOPs).
  • Execute preventative maintenance on Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, system control panels, and batteries.
  • Support electrical infrastructure throughout the data center campus.
  • Assist in the troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of instrument sensors.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and comply with physical security policies.

Key Skills:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • A minimum of five years of work or applied learning experience in technical fields such as automotive, electrical, controls, or data centers.
  • Previous data center experience and experience with electrical systems in a high-availability critical infrastructure environment.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Fundamental understanding of the National Electrical Code.
  • Experience with building management systems (EPMS).

Work Environment: This role requires a flexible work schedule, which could include 12-hour shifts, rotating shifts, and 3-, 4-, or 5-day work weeks, with core business hours between 7 AM and 7 PM, Monday through Friday.
