Summary: The Technical Credit Modelling Capability Lead will oversee the development and optimization of a large-scale credit modelling function within a leading financial institution. This role emphasizes the use of modern cloud technologies and requires a strong technical direction in credit model development. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and delivery of technical solutions for credit risk modelling initiatives, focusing on cloud-native tooling and architecture.
- Champion best practices in coding, frameworks, and tools across the model development lifecycle.
- Collaborate across data science, risk, and technology teams to ensure efficient and high-quality model delivery.
- Translate complex business problems into high-level technical solutions.
- Act as the go-to expert for technical standards, driving excellence in model build, governance, and deployment.
- Work within Agile delivery frameworks, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Skills:
- Proven expertise in credit modelling, particularly within IRB or similar regulatory contexts.
- Deep experience in cloud environments, especially AWS (e.g., EC2, S3, Glue, SageMaker).
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, particularly in the context of data manipulation, model development, and optimisation.
- Ability to influence technical standards, set direction, and work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
