Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective credit risk strategies for SME lending.
- Maintain credit risk standards, procedures, and governance processes.
- Provide expert risk insights on business proposals, identifying opportunities and mitigating risks.
- Shape and maintain portfolio risk appetite metrics to support lending decisions.
- Lead the creation of new lending products and customer journeys, ensuring a seamless experience.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Product, Distribution, IT, and Second Line Credit Risk teams.
- Produce insightful portfolio MI, delivering actionable performance updates to governance forums.
- Ensure compliance with sector-wide regulatory standards.
Key Skills:
- Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to solve complex problems and drive business value.
- Proven ability to communicate credit risk insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficient in statistical programming languages (ideally SAS).
- Numerical degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computing, or Engineering.
- Hands-on experience in automated credit risk management, ideally within the UK SME market.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
