Summary: The Credit Risk Impairment Manager (IFRS 9) is responsible for overseeing the production, reporting, and analysis of IFRS 9 impairment actuals for both Retail and Corporate portfolios. This role requires end-to-end ownership of the monthly impairment results, ensuring data integrity and compliance with IFRS 9 standards. The position involves collaboration with various teams and the preparation of materials for senior management and risk governance forums. Strong experience in IFRS 9 methodologies and analytical skills are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the monthly IFRS 9 impairment production cycle, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of impairment results.
  • Review and challenge IFRS 9 model outputs, movements, and key drivers of impairment actuals.
  • Maintain and enhance Post-Model Adjustments (PMAs), including governance, documentation, and justification.
  • Ensure results are reconciled and aligned with Finance during month-end, half-year, and year-end close.
  • Develop and maintain impairment MI, dashboards, and analytical reporting.
  • Provide quantitative and qualitative commentary explaining movements in ECL, staging, coverage, and key risk drivers.
  • Conduct deep-dive analysis into portfolio performance, credit quality, and impairment volatility.
  • Deliver outputs suitable for senior management and risk governance forums.
  • Lead preparation of materials for Impairment Forums and senior risk committees.
  • Act as a key contact for internal and external audit.
  • Maintain robust controls, checks, and documentation across the IFRS 9 production process.
  • Ensure adherence to IFRS 9 accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Portfolio Management, Collections, and Risk teams.
  • Provide clear explanations of impairment results and key judgements to senior stakeholders.

Key Skills:
