Your new role:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Part Time Credit Controller / Finance Assistant to join the finance team on a maternity cover contract expected to last around nine months.
This is a varied and hands on position offering exposure across credit control, accounts receivable, billing, banking, and general finance administration.
Working closely with Project Managers and senior stakeholders across the business, you will play a key role in maintaining healthy cash flow while helping to ensure the smooth day to day running of the finance function.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing project set up and amendments within Timemaster
- Processing work in progress and billing for multiple Project Managers
- Raising and issuing client invoices
- Managing the sales ledger and credit control process
- Proactively chasing outstanding debt and reducing aged receivables
- Producing monthly debtor reports and facilitating debtor review meetings
- Resolving customer account queries and building strong customer relationships
- Supporting customer account set up and maintenance
- Completing daily bank reconciliations within Xero
- Managing the accounts inbox and ensuring queries are dealt with efficiently
- Supporting the wider business with office administration duties and acting as a first point of contact for visitors and incoming calls
What you'll need to succeed:
- Previous experience within credit control, accounts receivable or a finance assistant position
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
- Confidence managing collections activity and customer queries
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively
- Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving
- Intermediate Excel skills and strong Microsoft Office knowledge
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Experience using Xero would be advantageous but is not essential as training can be provided
- A flexible and adaptable approach with a willingness to support the wider business where required
