Summary: The role of Credit Controller involves managing and reducing aged debt for low-value customer accounts on a 6-month contract in Surrey. The position requires proactive engagement in resolving payment issues and improving cash flow performance. The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Operations team to achieve targets related to aged debt reduction and cash collection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of low-value debtor accounts with aged balances (90+ days overdue).
- Prioritise and chase outstanding invoices through calls, emails, and account statements.
- Investigate and resolve payment queries or disputes in collaboration with internal teams.
- Maintain accurate records of communications and collection actions.
- Recommend accounts for escalation, legal action, or write-off where appropriate.
- Assist in improving and streamlining credit control processes.
- Provide regular aged debt and cash collection reports to the Director of Finance Operations.
- Achieve agreed targets for aged debt reduction and cash collection.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in credit control or collections, ideally with high-volume, low-value accounts.
- Experience working in an interim or contract role is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of aged debt reporting, KPIs, and AR systems (e.g., SFDC, Infor SunSystems).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organised, able to work independently, and manage competing priorities.
- Results-driven, persistent, and solutions-focused with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable working across global teams and adapting communication styles across regions and time zones.
