Cost Engineer

Summary: The Cost Engineer role involves planning, estimating, budgeting, and controlling project costs throughout the project lifecycle in Scotland. The position requires strong analytical and communication skills to analyze project data, forecast expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities while ensuring projects remain within budget and meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Creating detailed cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment, and other resources.
• Developing and managing project budgets, tracking actual expenditures, and providing regular assessments of project costs and forecasts.
• Monitoring project costs, identifying potential cost overruns, and implementing cost-saving measures.
• Analyzing project data, identifying cost drivers, and evaluating the effectiveness of cost-saving strategies.
• Working closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure cost goals are met.
• Identifying and assessing potential risks related to project costs and developing mitigation strategies.
• Preparing cost engineering reports, including cost variance reports and trend analyses.
