Summary: Acro Aircraft Seating is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join their finance team for a 6-month fixed-term contract. Key Responsibilities:
- Calculate and analyse manufacturing, production, and operational costs.
- Prepare detailed cost reports (standard vs. actual costs) and explain variances.
- Monitor inventory valuation and ensure accurate cost allocation.
- Perform month-end closing activities related to inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS).
- Perform stock reconciliation exercise to ensure all reports match.
- Manage scrap process and provide recommendations to management.
- Conduct physical inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
- Analyse inventory turnover, obsolescence, and shrinkage.
- Assist in developing cost standards for materials, labour, and overhead.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes with cost-related insights.
- Track cost trends and provide recommendations for cost reduction.
- Identify inefficiencies in production and supply chain processes.
- Recommend cost-saving measures and process optimisations.
- Implement best practices in cost accounting procedures.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and internal accounting policies.
- Maintain accurate cost accounting records and documentation.
- Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
- Work with production, procurement, and finance teams to gather cost data.
- Provide financial insights to support pricing and operational decisions.
- Train non-financial staff on cost control measures.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CMA, CPA, CIMA) is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in manufacturing or production environments.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics) and advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with high accuracy in data analysis.
- Knowledge of cost accounting principles (standard costing, ABC costing, etc.).
- Ability to communicate financial data to non-finance teams.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cost Accountant to join our finance team. The Cost Accountant is responsible for analysing and controlling costs related to production, inventory, and operations. This role involves understanding and calculating the BOM, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Analysis & Reporting: Calculate and analyse manufacturing, production, and operational costs. Prepare detailed cost reports (standard vs. actual costs) and explain variances. Monitor inventory valuation and ensure accurate cost allocation.
- Inventory Management: Perform month-end closing activities related to inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS). - Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with production, procurement, and finance teams to gather cost data. Provide financial insights to support pricing and operational decisions. Train non-financial staff on cost control measures.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional certification (e.g., CMA, CPA, CIMA) is a plus.
