Summary: The Corrosion Engineering Lead will oversee corrosion engineering activities for a significant offshore project in Qatar, ensuring compliance with technical requirements and project deliverables. This long-term contract role requires a strong focus on materials selection and engineering compliance, while providing support to the Offshore Engineering Manager. The position demands extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly in major project environments. The role is residential, requiring a commitment of 6 days a week, with 10-hour workdays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Report to Offshore Head of Material Engineering.
- Ensure compliance of Contractor’s materials and corrosion engineering with contract requirements.
- Plan and schedule materials/corrosion engineering deliverables for efficient project execution.
- Supervise Contractor’s material selection for compliance with codes and standards.
- Participate in design workshops to ensure materials recommendations are implemented.
- Supervise engineering interfaces for materials/corrosion across various teams.
- Support Offshore Engineering Manager in monitoring contractor’s document delivery.
- Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts for material selection and corrosion engineering.
- Ensure compliance with management of change procedures for contractor design changes.
Key Skills:
- Engineering degree/diploma or equivalent experience.
- 12+ years of relevant experience as Materials/Corrosion Lead in oil and gas.
- Broad knowledge of engineering execution, design standards, and specifications.
- Experience with Brownfield engineering and execution.
