Summary: The Corporate Group Accountant role at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust involves providing financial management advice and support to corporate departments and the Trust's subsidiary. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide financial management advice and support to Corporate Departments and the Trust Subsidiary (SCL).
- Lead financial interactions between CDDFT and SCL, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Advise Corporate Managers on financial implications of management policies and actions.
- Manage the financial management team, ensuring workload is allocated effectively.
- Monitor and report on financial performance of Corporate Areas, influencing managers to achieve targets.
- Support the Corporate Accountant with corporate financial responsibilities, including Annual Accounts and audits.
- Provide financial support during business planning and contracting processes.
- Attend meetings with Corporate staff and deputize for the Corporate Accountant as needed.
Key Skills:
- CCAB Professional Accountancy Qualification or equivalent.
- Experience in a finance function, particularly within NHS finance.
- Proficiency in computerised finance systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with staff at all levels.
- Ability to produce and analyse business cases and financial reports.
- Excellent organisational and people management skills.
- Knowledge of current NHS funding regimes and financial developments.
- Capability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
