Summary: The Corporate Business Development Director will lead M&A initiatives for a top global company on a 3-month contract, starting April 1, 2025. This role requires significant corporate transaction experience and the ability to engage with senior stakeholders while providing strategic financial insights. The position is hybrid, requiring two days per week in Central London, and is classified as inside IR35 due to the use of an umbrella company. The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping the company's inorganic growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide thought leadership on corporate finance theory and valuation.
- Support in the development of the inorganic strategy.
- Lead origination, evaluation, and execution of inorganic opportunities.
- Critically review and challenge business cases.
- Provide central support to regions/sector senior management and business development teams regarding acquisitions, divestments, and new business opportunities.
- Conduct comprehensive financial impact analysis of inorganic opportunities on the Group.
- Partner with other teams (e.g., Group Finance, Tax, Treasury) to assess the impact of inorganic opportunities.
- Perform entity and product valuations for tax or other purposes.
- Perform various periodic and ad-hoc financial and transaction analysis for Board meetings.
- Assist with training and development of the team.
Key Skills:
- Degree level education or equivalent; professional finance qualification (ACA, CIMA, MBA, CPA) preferred.
- Experience in investment banking, lead advisory, or corporate development at a large corporate.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; self-starter with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Extensive corporate finance experience with a focus on financial evaluation and valuation methodologies.
- Ability to create, understand, and operate complex financial models (e.g., DCFs and LBOs).
- Ability to lead transactions from origination to deal completion.
- Experience in leading small teams and developing others.
- Experience in deal structuring.
- Project management skills, including conducting thorough financial and commercial due diligence.
- Experience in licensing transactions is a plus.
