Copywriter and Editor, Restaurants (Maternity Cover)

Summary: This role involves supporting international franchise restaurant partners and UK sites with copywriting and editing needs during a 10-month fixed-term maternity cover contract. The successful candidate will maintain and develop the brand's tone of voice while creating content for various print and digital platforms. Responsibilities include managing menu creation, collaborating with teams, and ensuring consistency across all written materials. The position requires a creative individual with editorial experience and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver all copy requirements for the restaurants’ team, including marketing materials, press releases, and internal documents.
• Ensure all content meets brand standards and company objectives.
• Act as a guardian for brand tone of voice across all written collateral.
• Write and edit external and internal communications for UK and global restaurants.
• Maintain and evolve tone of voice guidelines and provide feedback to non-editorial team members.
• Assist in the creation of new restaurant concepts and manage menu creation.
• Build and maintain relationships with marketing, operations, chefs, PR, and management teams.
• Collaborate with marketing and design on briefs and ensure high-quality asset delivery.
• Manage freelance support as required and support brand concept pack creation.
• Apply business and cultural considerations to all restaurant collateral.

Key Skills:

• Experience working in editorial.
• Portfolio demonstrating ability to write copy for different mediums.
• Clear communication about workload and priorities.
• Digital proficiency, preferably in Mac, Google, Adobe Reader, and InDesign.
• Food editing or cooking experience.
• Relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
• Understanding of copy touchpoints in the hospitality industry (preferred).
• Knowledge of Jamie Oliver (preferred).
