Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess control design and operational effectiveness, ensuring activities are performed as intended and can be evidenced
  • Schedule and facilitate Microsoft Teams-based walk-through meetings with control owners/representatives
  • Review supporting documentation in advance (e.g., process flows, websites, guidance)
  • Perform enquiry-based control testing by asking probing questions during walk-throughs
  • Capture supporting evidence (notes, screen prints, URLs, documentation)
  • Document findings using a templated Word report format
  • Update the central Excel test plan tracker with results and outcomes
  • Notify stakeholders (management and control representatives) of testing results and escalate any issues or deficiencies

Key Skills:

  • Minimum of 4 years practical experience in control testing, particularly using enquiry and walkthrough methods
  • Exposure to ITGC and IS controls in large, regulated environments
  • Familiarity with COBIT, ISO/IEC 27001, CISM, CISSP
  • Strong understanding of ITIL is essential
  • Strong interpersonal skills; confident asking probing questions and working with technical/non-technical stakeholders
  • Solid documentation and evidence-gathering skills
  • CISA certification (Certified Information Systems Auditor)

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Controls Testing Analyst to work for our client within the finance sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London. Our client is seeking an experienced Controls Testing Analyst to support the testing of IT and Information Security controls across multiple control domains and business divisions. Reporting to the IT Controls Testing Team (ITCT) Manager, the analyst will independently validate and assess a prioritised set of 55 key controls using the enquiry method, working closely with control owners and representatives. This role is pivotal in supporting our client’s commitment to operational resilience, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in IT risk management.
