Summary: The role of Controls Engineer involves leading the commissioning, quality assurance, and integration of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) for mission-critical projects in London. The engineer will oversee on-site teams, manage vendor relationships, and ensure high-quality system delivery while supporting a hybrid working arrangement. Key responsibilities include technical leadership, compliance validation, and effective stakeholder communication. The position requires extensive experience in industrial controls and strong expertise in relevant technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate on-site resources, ensuring effective deployment of engineers, contractors, and support staff
- Act as the primary point of contact for vendors and subcontractors, managing schedules, deliverables, and compliance
- Ensure all BMS installation and commissioning activities meet required quality and performance standards
- Validate control system functionality and ensure compliance with project specifications
- Lead advanced commissioning activities (Level 3 & 4) for BMS/EPMS SCADA systems
- Provide technical leadership to system integrators, ensuring seamless integration across complex systems
- Direct point-to-point testing, calibration, and validation of sensors and devices
- Oversee IO checks, device connectivity, and field integration across control systems and commissioning
- Oversee point-to-graphic activities using SCADA systems (e.g., Ignition)
- Ensure accurate and functional system visualization using approved tools
- Supervise low voltage contractors, ensuring compliance with standards and specifications
- Coordinate with external vendors to align deliverables, resolve issues, and maintain project timelines
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience in industrial controls, with a focus on BMS and EPMS systems
- Strong expertise in Rockwell PLCs and Ignition SCADA
- Proficiency in EPLAN and/or AutoCAD for electrical design
- Proven experience leading commissioning teams in multi-vendor environments
- Deep understanding of control systems, commissioning processes, and IP networking
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities in fast-paced site environments
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Data Center experience preferable

Controls Engineer - London - 6 months+ We are seeking a highly experienced Delivery Controls Engineer to lead the commissioning, quality assurance, and integration of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) on mission-critical projects. Overseeing on-site engineering teams, coordinating vendors and contractors, and ensuring systems are delivered to the highest standards. You will play a key role in driving successful project outcomes through effective commissioning, stakeholder communication, and team mentorship. You will support onsite in London 3 days per week and the remainder from home.
