Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement HVDC control systems by analysing customer requirements and identifying gaps from standard solutions
- Model systems and define requirements for hardware and software teams
- Validate system performance through DPS and protection coordination studies
- Support tendering, operations and after-sales technical activities
- Perform modelling and simulations using PSCAD, PSSE, MATLAB and similar tools
- Conduct dynamic studies, protection coordination and parameter tuning
- Develop algorithms and control/protection strategies
- Provide technical leadership during FAT/FST and design reviews
- Identify, manage and mitigate technical risks while meeting project milestones
- Support R&D, innovation, patenting and technical publications
- Drive continuous improvement, standardisation and solution reuse
- Collaborate across projects and incorporate lessons learned
Key Skills:
- Hold an engineering degree or equivalent HVDC experience
- Strong communication, technical reporting and client engagement skills
- Good understanding of power systems and AC/HVDC interactions
- Ability to work under pressure with flexibility to travel globally
