Summary: The Control Systems Engineer role is a contract position based in Essex, focusing on the design, development, and delivery of advanced automation solutions. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and program PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems to a high standard
- Produce technical documentation including manuals, test procedures, and system specifications
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams, providing technical expertise and support
- Contribute to the development of new products and system improvements
- Follow and support project timelines set by the Systems Engineering Manager
- Assist with troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning activities
Key Skills:
- Strong experience with PLC programming (IEC 61131-3 languages preferred)
- Proven expertise in SCADA systems and industrial automation
- Solid understanding of control systems and electrical integration
- Ability to read and interpret P&ID drawings
- Experience with CAD tools such as Visio or E-Plan Electric P8
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, CANbus, Profibus)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

The Role
As a Control Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and delivery of advanced automation solutions. You will be involved across the full project lifecycle, from concept through to commissioning, ensuring high-quality and innovative engineering outcomes.
