Summary: The Control & Instrumentation Technician will join the Maintenance Team at the South Clyde Energy Centre, a new power station under construction that will process waste to generate energy. This role involves preventative and corrective maintenance of critical plant equipment, contributing to the commissioning and operational readiness of the facility. Key Responsibilities:
- Fault finding, installing, maintaining and testing all control equipment as directed by the C&I Engineer
- Calibrations and loop checking of instruments
- Maintaining the continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS)
- Assist in the development of plant modification and improvement work
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the site CMMS
- Supervising and directing on site contractors when required
- Assist in outage planning and coordination
- Recommending plant spares to the C&I Engineer
- Ensuring strict HSE compliance
Key Skills:
- A recognised qualification in electrical / electronic engineering at Level 3 (C&G, ONC, NVQ, SVQ) level or higher; other qualifications below this will be considered with extensive experience
- Ideally qualified with an IOSH or equivalent with an appreciation of workplace Health & Safety including knowledge of Safe Systems of Work, LOTO, Isolations, SOP’s, RAMS would also be considered.
- Recognised Control & Instrumentation / Automation Apprenticeship
- At least years maintenance experience with a range of equipment including DCS & PLC systems, Instrumentation (maintenance and calibration) which includes; Flow, Level, Pressure etc
- Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of CEMS (Continuous Emissions Monitoring equipment) and Environmental Permits
- Practical knowledge of process plant and equipment gained in an industry such as Power Generation, Petrochemical or Oil & Gas etc.
- Experience in leading a team of technicians in daily maintenance practices and procedures
- Involvement in plant mobilisation and commissioning is desirable but not essential

This new build Power Station is due to enter commercial operation by the end of 2026. Now is an ideal time to join the power station as you’ll be involved in full plant commissioning, training & mobilisation.
