Summary: The Contracts Engineer will manage Pre-Cast Driven and Specialist Piling schemes, ensuring efficient contract performance, safety, and client liaison. Responsibilities include overseeing construction methods, site documentation, and compliance with health and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities:
- Management of internal resource and subcontractors.
- Ensure works are constructed according to contract and design specifications.
- Produce and review construction methods statements.
- Develop and work to programmes, measuring progress and productivity.
- Understand and apply health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Prepare and review risk assessments.
- Support and drive behavioural safety on site.
- Monitor progress reporting and achieve goals for assigned work.
- Anticipate and resolve engineering-related problems.
- Manage construction records, O&M manuals, and as-built drawings.
- Support customer focus, construction excellence, and innovation strategy.
- Conduct client meetings and pre-contract meetings.

- Support the delivery of sustainability activities.
Key Skills:

About The Role
Management of Pre- Cast Driven and Specialist Piling schemes of various size. To be responsible for the efficient running of contracts on site which includes, contract performance, safety, monitoring/ reporting progress against targets, client liaison, allocation and supervision of staff, whilst achieve excellence in safety, quality, sustainability and efficiency, ensuring consistency with the Balfour Beatty Business Management System
What you'll be doing
- Management of internal resource and subcontractors
- Ensure that the works are constructed in accordance with the contract and design information, drawings, specification and Project Management Plan
- Produce and review construction methods statements ensuring that the works are constructed efficiently and safely
- Produce all site documentation for delivery of the works including PMP, PVPMP, ITP, Construction Phase Management Plan etc as required
- Develop then work to programmes, measuring progress and productivity outputs
- Understand and apply the procedures and processes detailed in the project Health, Safety and Environmental plans, and to promote a safe working culture
- Ensuring the works are undertaken safely and in accordance with Health, Safety & Environmental legislation and the site HS&E plans.
- Prepare and review risk assessments
- Support and drive behavioural safety on site
- To be responsible for the monitoring, progress reporting and achieving of goals for the work under his/her responsibility
- Anticipating and resolving problems, in particular related to engineering issues.
- Managing construction records, O&M manuals and as built drawings

Who we're looking for
Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent preferable
Experience in delivery of piling projects on various scales
Experience of working on Infrastructure schemes and large developments
Technical knowledge of piling
Ability to manage multiple teams efficiently
Ability to manage multiple scheme costs
Ability to manage Health and Safety including Behavioural Safety
Ability to lead, communicate and influence others to deliver targets
