Summary: The role of Contract Test Lead involves leading a crucial implementation and integration project for a client, focusing on manual testing while also incorporating some automation. The candidate will be responsible for developing the test strategy, communicating with senior stakeholders, and sharing knowledge within the team. The position requires a strong background in manual testing, experience with Agile methodologies, and familiarity with Oracle and SQL databases. The contract is for an initial four months with the possibility of extension, requiring on-site presence in Horley, Surrey 1-2 times a week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the integration project and own the test strategy.
• Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, heads of departments, and external suppliers.
• Share knowledge and experience with the wider team to drive continuous improvements.
• Conduct software and systems testing throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee the testing of the final product.
• Work within an experienced Test Team and manage a dedicated Test Engineer.
• Utilize Agile methodologies, specifically DSDM, and manage project work using DevOps.

Key Skills:

• Minimum of four to five years’ experience as a Manual Test Lead or Manager.
• Solid manual testing experience; experience in automation testing is highly desirable.
• Experience working with Agile/DSDM frameworks and Azure DevOps.
• Strong experience in integration/application, regression, and migration testing.
• Proficiency in SQL Server and Oracle databases.
• Ability to write clear and concise test plans.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service and stakeholder management experience.
• Articulate with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Team player with the ability to work independently.
• Experience in the energy industry is desirable but not essential.
• Experience in a regulated environment is useful.
