Summary: The role of Solutions Architect is critical for designing, developing, and implementing tailored IT and business solutions for the client. The position requires occasional travel to company sites in West Wales and mainland Europe for stakeholder engagement and project evaluation. Candidates must possess relevant qualifications and extensive experience in solutions architecture, particularly in regulated environments. The architect will be responsible for mapping applications, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic direction for system implementation and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Map IT and Business applications, network and mobile architecture structures and their interconnections.
- Develop platforms and applications architecture.
- Revise specific applications architectures as requested and aid in identifying transition steps.
- Consult with internal IT teams to align projects with elected architectures.
- Accountable for architecture development, management, and delivery roadmaps.
- Make critical decisions regarding system implementation, operations, and maintenance.
- Ensure alignment with internal and external compliance frameworks.
- Abstract system complexity into manageable models.
- Create a Systems Architecture Reference List.
- Assess new applications for suitability.
- Support documentation of business requirements with IT and the Business.
- Assess new or revised platforms according to regulatory needs.
- Provide detailed information about costs and benefits of applications or platforms.
- Work with Directors to justify investment in proposed architectures.
- Act as an 'architecture ambassador' and participate in the Change Advisory Board (CAB).
Key Skills:
- TOGAF, CISSP, or Azure Certified Solutions Architect qualifications.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Solutions Architect.
- Experience in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
- Excellent knowledge of current industry architecture standards.
- Experience in a highly regulated environment.

My client is looking to recruit a very experienced Solutions Architect who will hold a critical position in the design, development, and implementation of innovative IT and business solutions meticulously tailored to fulfil my client's requirements.
*This role necessitates occasional visits to company sites (West Wales as well as mainland Europe) to directly engage with stakeholders, evaluate project demands, and ensure the successful execution of bespoke solutions. Please bear this in mind when applying.* It is an important part of this role that you are able to get to West Wales on an occasional basis, for meetings, workshops etc
To be considered for this position candidates MUST have
- At least one of the following TOGAF, CISSP or Azure Certified Solutions Architect qualifications.
- A minimum 5 years as a Solutions Architect
- Experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
- Excellent knowledge of current industry architecture standards and approaches.
- Experience working in a highly regulated environment
- Passion for systems architecture and IT in general.
- Exceptional customer service and delivery focus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (specifically by telephone, e-mail and messaging).

- Competent and organised with the ability to manage and prioritise workload, multi-task and manage a diverse mix of issues, responsibilities and challenges.
The role will be responsible for
Responsible functionally to map IT and Business applications, network and mobile architecture structures and their interconnections.
Development and platforms and applications architecture.
Revise specific applications architectures as requested, aiding identifying transition steps and elaborating project plans to address any gaps.
Consulting with internal IT teams for aligning projects with elected architectures.
Overall accountability for architecture development, management and delivery roadmaps
Make critical decisions with appropriate documentation that define direction for a system in terms of implementation, operations, and maintenance including system validation.
Ensure alignment with all required internal and external compliance frameworks including but not limited to TOGAF, SOX ITGC and ISO27001.
Abstract the complexity of a system into a manageable model that describes the essence of a system by exposing important details and significant constraints.
Create a Systems Architecture Reference List
Assess new applications to see if they are suitable
Meet with IT and the Business to support documentation of business requirements
Assess new or revised platforms in accordance with regulatory or non-regulatory needs.
Provide detailed information about costs and benefits of applications or platforms
Work with Directors to explain the benefits and justification of investment in proposed architectures achieved by evaluating BPR, Cost-Benefit Analysis Methods and measuring component/architectural re-use.
Be an 'architecture ambassador' and a member of the Change Advisory Board (CAB).
