Summary: The role of Contract Software/Systems Manual Test Engineer involves supporting a critical implementation and integration project for a client, focusing on software and systems testing. The position requires collaboration with an experienced test team and a Test Lead, with responsibilities spanning from the integration of a new central message exchange system to the final product testing. Candidates must have a strong background in manual testing, with some experience in automation, and be comfortable working within an Agile framework. The role is based in Horley, requiring in-office attendance 1-2 times a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation and integration project as a Manual Test Engineer.
- Collaborate with the Test Lead and existing test team on software and systems testing.
- Conduct integration, application, regression, and migration testing.
- Write clear and concise test plans.
- Participate in Agile/DSDM framework and two-week sprints.
- Utilize Azure DevOps for project management.
- Engage in testing of the final product.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and other departments.
Key Skills:
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a Manual Test Engineer.
- Solid manual testing experience; automation testing experience is highly desirable.
- Experience with Agile/DSDM framework and Azure DevOps.
- Proficient in SQL Server and Oracle databases.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in the energy industry is desirable but not essential.
- Experience in a regulated environment is useful.
