Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Python backend services and React applications.
- Utilize Django or other Python web frameworks for project development.
- Manage relational databases and data modeling tasks.
- Implement and manage AWS services including SNS, SQS, EKS, and S3.
- Work with Kubernetes and tools like kubectl and k9s.
- Build systems that operate at scale and handle production deployments.
- Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like CodeFresh.
- Update Helm charts and Terraform configurations as needed.
- Utilize OpenSearch or ElasticSearch for data handling.
Key Skills:
- Strong experience with Python and React development.
- Proficient in Django or other Python web frameworks.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services.

We are currently seeking an experienced contract software engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Codurance software engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies and contribute to the success of our clients' projects. This is an initial 6 months contract, inside IR35. Start: ASAP Day rate: £550-£600 day
* We’d like to let you know that you might be asked to join a support rota for one week out of every eight. This will come with extra compensation.
Essential Requirements:
- Strong experience with Python backend services and proficient in React development
- Django framework experience (or other Python web frameworks)
- Solid understanding of relational databases and data modelling
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (SNS, SQS, EKS, S3)
- Kubernetes experience using tools like kubectl and k9s
- Understanding of building systems that operate at scale
- Experience with production deployments and CI/CD pipelines (CodeFresh or similar)
- Comfortable updating Helm charts and Terraform configurations
- Experience with OpenSearch or ElasticSearch
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Strong knowledge of architecture and development patterns (e.g. Microservices, CQRS, Domain Driven Design, Event Sourcing etc.)
- An appreciation for good development practices (Test-driven development, pair programming, continuous integration/deployment)
