Summary: The role of Contract Project Engineer involves delivering development projects for a global chemical manufacturing business specializing in fine and specialty chemicals. The engineer will manage the full life cycle of projects, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards while collaborating with various engineering teams. This is a 12-month contract offering competitive hourly rates outside of IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure effective and full management of the assigned project(s) on site.
- Ensure contractor management, allocating resources as and when appropriate.
- Identify opportunities for process/project improvements and bring to the engineering team's attention.
- Identification and provision of appropriate design tools.
- Yield calculation, theoretical and actual gap identification.
- Ensure effective commissioning, operational handover, and relevant coaching of the teams where necessary.
Key Skills:
- Degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering.
- Proven experience within the chemical manufacturing space, ideally on a COMAH regulated site.
- Strong project engineering background.
- Detailed knowledge of plant and processes operated and understanding of constraints.
- Good knowledge of IT including Microsoft Office suite and AutoCAD.
- Project management skills.

Handley James Chemical are proud to be again, engaged as the search partner to a global chemical manufacturing business, specialising in fine and speciality chemicals in the search for an experienced Contract Project Engineer, for a 12-month contract. As a Project Engineer you will deliver development projects to meet business needs, ensuring all processes are designed and engineered to an acceptable standard. You will work closely with the wider chemical and other engineering teams to implement and execute projects, ensure health and safety is priority number one. You will manage full life cycle of projects with the relevant team members, manage contractors and ensure projects are delivered on time and in full. The successful candidate will be an experienced engineer with a degree in chemical engineering, strong project management experience and knowledge of the chemical manufacturing processes.

This is an outstanding opportunity to gain access to an international Chemical company, one with tremendous future opportunities. In return our client is offering an hourly rate of £55 - £65ph outside of IR35, plus expenses.
