Summary: The Contract Manufacturing Engineer Tooling role involves supporting projects through process improvement and the design of jigs, fixtures, and tooling. The position requires expertise in manufacturing engineering, particularly in a mechanically biased environment, with a focus on design for manufacture (DFM) and process optimization. This is a 12-month contract with an immediate start available, offering opportunities for significant impact within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure product design is suitable for manufacture (DFM) with tooling considerations.
  • Design jigs, fixtures, and tooling using 3D CAD.
  • Optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Create specifications for tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes.
  • Support internal investigations using problem resolution tools and techniques.
  • Identify additional needs for CAPEX and collaborate with internal and external teams.
  • Develop and update work instructions (SOPs) and manufacturing specifications.

Key Skills:

  • Proven manufacturing engineering experience in a mechanically biased environment.
  • Experience in jig, fixture, and tooling design using 3D CAD.
  • Knowledge of process optimization and DFM principles.
  • Familiarity with problem resolution tools and lean techniques.
  • Ability to create and update manufacturing specifications and work instructions.

Salary (Rate): £45.00
